A readiness score is a guide, not a guarantee
The checklist helps expose missing operational, technical, and community tasks, but it cannot predict real player load, mod conflicts, hosting outages, or moderation incidents. A high score means the planned items were reviewed, not that the launch is risk-free.
Give extra weight to backups, restore testing, permissions, network access, staff coverage, player communication, and a documented rollback path.
Run a controlled launch rehearsal
Invite a small test group and simulate login, progression, restart, backup, restore, support, and emergency communication. Record every manual step so another staff member can repeat it.
Before opening publicly, freeze unnecessary changes. Last-minute mod updates and configuration edits create unknowns when the team should be observing stability and helping players.
